Print Shoppe Invests in Xerox Iridesse Production Press

Print Shoppe in Austin, TX invests in specialty Xerox Iridesse printing press

Print Shoppe has transformed its production capabilities with the strategic acquisition of the Xerox Iridesse Digital Production Press in October 2024, positioning the company at the forefront of digital embellishment technology and premium printing services.

Revolutionary Six-Color Technology Unlocks Premium Applications

The Xerox Iridesse represents a breakthrough in commercial printing as the only digital production press capable of printing six colors inline at full production speed. Operating at up to 120 pages per minute with 2400 x 2400 dpi Ultra HD resolution, the system maintains its rated speed even when utilizing specialty dry inks including metallic gold, silver, white, and clear embellishments.

“This investment demonstrates our commitment to delivering unparalleled print quality and creative possibilities for our clients,” said Jesse Mansfield. “The Iridesse enables us to produce premium embellishment effects that were previously only achievable through expensive offline processes, giving our customers a significant competitive advantage in their marketing materials.”

Color Logic Integration Delivers 924 Metallic Colors

Print Shoppe’s Iridesse installation includes advanced Color Logic software integration, creating a powerful ecosystem for sophisticated metallic printing. This partnership enables the production of up to 924 lustrous metallic colors using only five inks (CMYK + Silver), with seamless Adobe Creative Suite integration that eliminates trial-and-error metallic development.

The Color Logic system unlocks premium applications including dimensional color-shifting effects, security watermarking, and custom metallic gradients – all achieved in a single pass with perfect color registration. This capability opens new revenue streams in packaging, premium marketing materials, security printing, and luxury brand communications.

Strategic Market Positioning for Growth

The digital embellishment market is projected to reach 25 billion pages, significantly outpacing traditional CMYK printing growth. Print Shoppe’s investment positions the company to capitalize on the opportunity to offer clients previously impossible creative options.

“We’re not just adding equipment – we’re expanding into high-value market segments that command premium pricing,” noted Rishi Patel. “Our clients can now achieve true metallic effects, white ink applications on colored substrates, and dimensional clear coat finishes without the cost and complexity of traditional embellishment processes.”

The Iridesse supports production volumes up to 2.25 million impressions monthly with paper weights from 52-400 GSM, handling everything from business cards to large-format posters up to 47.2 inches in length.

Applications Spanning Multiple Industries

Print Shoppe’s enhanced capabilities serve diverse markets including packaging prototyping, luxury marketing materials, security printing, point-of-sale displays, and premium publications. The system’s ability to print on substrates ranging from conventional papers to specialty metallic stocks enables applications previously requiring multiple processes or outsourced finishing.
